Ohio – University of Akron starting point guard Alex Abreu was arrested Thursday on drug charges and has been suspended from the team indefinitely as the Zips begin their run for a Mid-American Conference men’s basketball championship. Police said Abreu and another Akron man were being held in the Summit County Jail on marijuana-trafficking charges. One count is a third-degree felony; the other is a felony drug-abuse charge, court records show. Abreu, 21, of East Exchange Street, and Austin L. Durgala, 18, of East Dartmore Avenue, are expected to appear today in Akron Municipal Court. Police said Abreu and Durgala accepted delivery of a package containing 5 pounds of marijuana.
I’m not a professional drug dealer or drug smoker but I think I have one thing down pretty well. If I’m going to buy 5 pounds of weed to smoke and sell I probably shouldn’t send it through the postal service, you know where they like inspect packages, have drug sniffing dogs, are coming off a kind-of-big-deal fucking ANTHRAX scare, deliver like 50% of shit to the wrong address. Just a lot of factors that don’t play well with the fact you’re buying large quantities of illegal drugs. Think you just wanted to head down to the sketchy part of town the old fashioned way you know? That’s the problem with kids today. Want everything hand delivered to them. Too lazy to do the face to face. Well this is what happens. Postal Service fucks you right in your ass. You get arrested and kicked off your basketball team right before March Madness. Ultimate bracket buster.
