It’s been a little while since there’s been a positive vibe in Giants land. A pair of one-sided wins, an anemic offense that’s finally clicking and a relatively healthy squad have Big Blue 60 minutes away from being over .500 for the first time since 2012. Baby steps. Hosting the high-flying Falcons passing attack would usually be reason to worry – but without 3/5 of their starting offensive line protecting Matt Ryan, it’s up to JPP, Kiwi, Big Hank, etc. to make today’s game hell for him. Ryan’s been upright so far this year – only 5 sacks – which explains his rebound from 2013 when he set a career-high in sacks & turnovers. With a patchwork line in front of him, pressure is key for the G-Men to ensure ATL doesn’t win their first outdoor road game since Thanksgiving 2012.
If they can wreak havoc on Atlanta’s lone strength & put Ryan on his ass, there’s no reason for Eli not to hang 30 for the third straight week. The Falcons are one of the worst defenses in football to begin with & are now down their starting strong safety. Perfect opportunity for first-round pick Odell Beckham Jr. to make a little noise in his NFL debut. This ATL team is ripe for the picking for a Giants squad coming off 10 days rest – and with visits to Philly & Dallas to follow, it’s a win NY can’t let slip away if they plan on playing January football.
