Even Katie Hnida Says Lauren Silberman Sucked
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – Katie Hnida wonders if Lauren Silberman and the NFL have done damage to the dreams of female athletes. The way Hnida saw it, those practice sessions couldn’t have been that intense. “Her performance does not have to do with her gender, it has to do with her experience and her preparation,” Hnida, a former college kicker for Colorado and New Mexico and the first woman to score a point in a Division I game, told USA TODAY Sports by phone. “Unfortunately, what’s going to happen now is she’s going to be looked at (as inferior) because she was female. “But she was terrible.” Hnida knows because she saw a clip of Silberman’s kicks. “I saw the video,” Hnida said with a sigh. “I saw the video.” What Hnida didn’t see was the 20-second period before the kick in which Silberman couldn’t figure out how to stand the ball on the tee without it falling. Hnida fell silent on the other end of the phone when told that. Hnida, who is battling back from a blood clot that put her Arena League career on hold, also didn’t see the awkward nine steps backward and five steps sideways Silberman made as she lined up 6 yards behind the ball instead of the standard approach from 10 or more yards. Three kickers who tried out along with Silberman on Sunday said the former MIT student asked a few of them how to approach the ball on the kick. The kickers spoke to USA TODAY Sports on condition of anonymity because they didn’t want to hurt their chances of getting another tryout with a team. Silberman’s technique, as Hnida noted, was terrible. “I also find it curious she didn’t warm up,” Hnida said. “You never go in kicking cold. There’s a reason why the kickers are the first people out there. It takes us a while to warm up.” “It is disappointing,” Hnida said. “I hoped she would go out and do justice for an NFL tryout, because there are lots of people who have dreamed of going to the NFL. It should be something serious.”
When it comes to chicks kicking footballs, Katie Hnida is the authority. Even despite those questionable sexual assault claims and what not, this chick actually kicked in college football games and played semi-pro. So when she says some chick sucked at kicking, then she fucking sucked. No ifs ands or buts about it. And she’s 1,000% right when she says its not about her gender, its about her performance. Technically speaking that was an NFL tryout. You’re held to a certain standard and a certain expectation of performance. Doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman – when you can’t set the ball on a tee, don’t know the proper technique, and dribble the ball 13 yards, you’re making a mockery of the sport and the entire tryout.
Its crystal fucking clear Lauren Silberman’s tryout was a publicity stunt. I’m not sure if she’s a raging feminist or just an asshole trying to make waves, but she clearly just wanted to draw attention to herself as “the first woman to try out.” I got in yet another twitter fight about this dumpy broad, this time with the feminists:

I have no idea who this chick is. Just some random girl on twitter – not like shes some important feminist leader or anything. But the mere fact that there is ONE girl out there giving Lauren Silberman a free pass and buying into this “injury” storyline is nauseating. Snap out of it, broads. Use your fucking brains. Lauren Silberman is a fraud. She went to this tryout because anybody can and she wanted attention as “the first female to ever tryout for the NFL.” The fact that myself and other news outlets and random girls on twitter are giving her that attention is just as infuriating as her saying she was injured and thats why she kicked a ball 20 fucking feet. Chicks have to fight tooth and nail to gain respect in the sports world and having attention whores like Lauren Silberman make a joke of it all sets them back like 50 years. If anything, women should be FURIOUS with this dumptruck. Yet there are still chicks out there defending her. Its like Katie Hnida is the only woman with a brain.
PS – I bet Katie makes horrible sandwiches and gives mediocre blow jobs. She’s too rational and too good at sports. Its like there are only so many skills and so much talent that can fit into one brain. Like when Homer took that home winemaking class and forgot how to drive. Katie knows how to use her brain rationally and she knows who to kick footballs so the sandwich/blow jobs stuff gets pushed out of her brain
