The Running Of The Porta Potties From The Good Ol Days Taking You Into The Weekend

Ah yes, the Preakness. One of the esteemed legs of the Triple Crown of horse racing. An event looked forward to every year by race horsing purists…ahh, who am I kidding? The Preakness is the red headed step child of the Triple Crown. If the official drink of the Kentucky Derby was a fine wine, the official drink of the Preakness would be Natty Light. For years Preakness was BYOB..which translated to “fill up wagons and shopping carts with as many 30 packs as possible and we trust you won’t drive home”. It’s a modern day miracle there weren’t 9,000 deaths a year at Preakness. Because for those who don’t know, it’s not like the track is in the easily accessible area of Baltimore. It’s just out in the middle of nowhere with no transportation to speak of. They recently changed the BYOB rule, hoping to class the joint up a bit, by selling all you can drink tickets. It’s sort of taken the allure out of the event for some, but if you’ve never been, it’s definitely worth checking out.

If you’re going to Preakness be sure to Tweet me any and everything you see @BarstoolNate or email vids/pics to DMV@Barstoolsports.com.

The running of the porta potties may be gone, but it will never be forgotten.
