Nothing can go as poorly as the second half of last weeks debacle vs the Broncos, so we are already starting the game off on the right foot. And just like last week’s game, the Skins are facing a team with a great offense and a week as balls defense. We’ve all seen Phillip Rivers make horrible decisions, but he has reduced that shit dramatically this year and is completing an absurd 74% of his passes. So the gameplan should be the same as last week’s first half: ball control on offense, and force Phillip Rivers to make mistakes by applying pressure.
In order to win, they need to continually pound the rock with Helu and Morris to open up the pass. Helu and Morris are running so pure this year, so they need to stick to what works. Last week vs the Broncos Kyle Shanny decided to start throwing bombs downfield, and it was disastrous. The longer the offense can keep Phillip Rivers off the field by milking the clock is optimal.
Chargers on the road vs a Skins team that was embarrassed last week? I expect them to bounce back and take this one down. And watch yer knees, Antonio Gates! Meriweather comin’ for ya.
And if they lose, at least they’ll look sweet doing it.
