CBS – A man walked into a classroom at George Mason University’s Arlington campus Wednesday afternoon, demanded a citizen’s arrest of the law professor teaching the course and proceeded to pepper spray him in the face, police say. An off-duty police officer who is also a student at the college heard the commotion from outside and got involved in the conflict, according to Arlington County Police Department spokesman Dustin Sternbeck. The suspect fled but was intercepted by more officers. Twelve to 14 people were evaluated by medics after reporting residual affects from pepper spray. Several charges are being filed against the man, who is not a student, Sternbeck says. Investigators say the suspect and the professor do not know each other. The man also had a stun gun in his possession during the attack but did not use it or threaten to use it, according to Sternbeck. The suspect’s identity has not yet been released. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
Doesn’t take a forensics team to get to the bottom of this one. So you’re telling me a law professor was randomly attacked, and now the words “citizen’s arrest” are being thrown around? Seems like this professor has taken a page straight out of Vince McMahon’s playbook. This is how I see it: The professor wasn’t the most popular professor in the law school. Always tries hard to get the kids to like him, but never has really gotten through to them. Always asking for a raise, but the GMU people can’t really validate giving him a raise because his student evaluations are so ho hum. So what do you do? You turn the tables. Full face turn. You get viciously attacked by an unknown assailant. You make sure a couple of the students feel the pain too. And BOOM! Suddenly, you’re in with them. You become the most famous professor on campus. The kids can’t bubble in anything negative on your evaluation after seeing what you just went through. And most importantly, this becomes a lesson for years to come. Coming full circle with that “citizen’s arrest” shit. Now he gets to tell this story every single year under the ruse of it being part of the class. My man gets the sympathy, gets the fame, gets the raise, and definitely gets the girls. Classic McMahon’ing. Well played, bro. Well played.
You for sure know how he’s walking into class today:
PS: The picture of the cop so nonchalantly pepperspraying all those kids to hell and back is still really hilarious. He looks so natural doing it, like he’s just whistling a tune, thinking “did I remember to lock the door…yea I remembered to lock the door” while pepperspraying those poor bastards.
