Barstool Idol Anonymous Blog #4 – I Think Manu Ginobili Announced His Retirement Last Night
Editor’s Note – Today the 5 remaining Barstool Idol contestants are getting back to the roots of the site and blogging. Each contestant has written a blog which I am merely formatting, not editing or changing in any other way. At the bottom of each blog you can rate it on a 1-10 scale. Barstool Sports started as a blog, so let’s see what the guys got.
If you’ve watched that video then you already know – Manu Ginobili announced his retirement last night. No fancy Player’s Tribune letter, no exhausting farewell tour, just a swift Argentinian good-bye.
Hitting that goddamn corner of the glass on a WIDE open three with the game on the line is embarrassing with a capital ASS. Sure, we’ve all been there. But for Manu, this has to be more deflating than getting dunked on by Dejuan Blair.
The whole building felt it…
Save those ticket stubs folks, January 10th against Milwaukee was Manu Ginobili’s swan song!
It actually sucks to see someone get forced out of the sport like this rather than going out on their own terms. It was a fine career.
This guy might have summed it up best:
Manu blew the game
That shit was not even close
Rest In Peace, Manu
PS: Still a HOFer for this move alone
