Today Is The Day, Cubs Hype Video To Get The Juices Flowing

I’ve given this speech before but here it is again. Days like today are why we watch sports. It’s why we go through weeks, months, years, lifetimes committing our time and money to rooting for a bunch of guys we’ll never meet. The Cubs are back in the playoffs, it’s been a long torturous journey since 2008. A lot of doubters, a lot of people who bailed, a lot of people who stopped believing, but today they are back and all is right in the world. Enjoy it, savor it, because as confident as I am in Jake Arrieta, I recognize that it is still baseball and anything can happen. If you walk outside you can feel it, there is a bolt of electricity running through the city. Nothing like that big game feeling when you’re sitting at work or in a class, staring at the clock, texting with your friends and family, getting yourself excited to slip into a sweatshirt and crack open a beer. A little extra pep in your step, that is why we watch sports. Go Cubs.
