The Lost Weekend

Well that was one to forget quickly. Derrick Rose tore his meniscus on Friday, we found out he may be done for the season on Saturday and possibly never the same. The Bulls blew a 21 point lead on Friday only to be followed by a 39 point blow out loss on Sunday. And the Bears took a golden opportunity to take the lead in the division only to have the Rams run all over their face, both literally and figuratively. All in all a pretty shitty weekend. So let’s play a little game. I consider myself a fairly optimistic guy. I don’t take life too seriously, so let’s figure out the positives, the things we still have to look for. I call it, Everything’s not bad, somethings are OK, just forget about D-Rose’s Knee and the Bears rush Defense. Here we go….

1. You’re alive, or at least I assume you are because you’re reading this. That’s pretty fucking sweet. Being dead is for pussies and suckers, being alive is awesome.

2. Remember this…

Best week ever? Well that could happen again this year. The Blackhawks are 16-4, they lead the entire NHL in points. They are everything every other Chicago team is right now except the exact opposite. They’re very very good and this is very very awesome.

3. Oh but you thought I was done. Don’t forget this…

Who’s that Big Cat? Oh just the rookie of the year and future Michael Jordan of women’s basketball. That’s an nbd but kbd situation right there. Sky will win a ‘ship in the next 3 years, lock it up.

4. Pitchers and Catc….actually let’s skip this point.

5. 112 days until St. Patricks day. Let’s go with that instead. That’s the official, we’ve made it through the Winter and everything is up from here point. It seems long but we’ll make it.

6. It’s a short week. Most of you have to work 2.5/3 days this week. I don’t care what else is going on, a half week is sweet as fuck.

8. RGIII is on Monday Night Football tonight, we will laugh and make fun of him, it will be fantastic.

9. Summer feels like a really long way away right now. It’s cold, it’s dark, it sucks. But she’ll be back, she always is, and we can all just sit here and watch this video on repeat until it happens.
