Remember back in March/April everyone was wondering who would be worse the Cubs or White Sox? That was a legitimate conversation topic. Like I distinctly remember all the radio shows debating this. It was real, because everyone just assumed both teams would be horrendous all summer long. Well, we’re there. Took two different paths, but we’re there. The White Sox collapse, for all intents and purposes, is complete, the Cubs collapse has been complete since Opening Day. No playoff baseball in Chicago. 100 Losses on the North Side and a season of 5 months of first place and 1 week of second on the South.
And I know this is going to sound crazy but I actually think the Cubs did it the preferable way. I’m not even one of those Cubs fans that hates White Sox fans either. I don’t really care about them. And I know the Cubs sucked and were never competitive and never win anything and blah blah blah, but White Sox fans knew in their heart of hearts that this team wasn’t going to the playoffs. They wanted to believe but they knew the other shoe was going to drop at some point. Where as I packed the season in 5 months ago. Was able to enjoy my summer without any expectations or heartbreak. Its like getting turned down by a girl at the bar or getting turned down after you’ve gone back to her place. Cubs fan’s got shut down right away, we were able to move on to something else, get blacked out with our friends. White Sox fans bought a bunch of drinks, talked about politics and other gay shit they didn’t want to talk about, paid for a cab, went all the way over to Wicker Park only to have her say she’s on her “period” and doesn’t like sucking dick. At the end of the night we both ended up masturbating to youjizz at 3 in the morning and feeling gross about ourselves. 2012 Chicago baseball, fun times.
