Huff Po – Rodney King was under the influence of cocaine, PCP, marijuana and alcohol at the time of death, according to the death report released Thursday, TMZ reports. The cause of death is listed as accidental drowning — but the drugs were contributing factors. The drugs, combined with a heart condition, led to a cardiac arrhythmia, and King was “thus incapacitated, was unable to save himself and drowned,” according to the report. King’s blood-alcohol level was 0.06.
King became famous in 1991, when a witness videotaped an altercation between King and Los Angeles police. The video shows officers brutally beating King and was subsequently broadcast on news outlets around the world. After officers involved in the beating were acquitted, the 1992 Los Angeles riots began. The police lost control of the city, and there were 53 deaths, 3,600 fires, 10,000 destroyed businesses and an estimated $1-billion-plus worth of damage.
Has anyone ever done less to gain such admiration in their entire lives than Rodney King? People always point at Kim Kardashian and say she did nothing to earn her fame but that’s only part true. Like yeah she’s not talented in a traditional way a star is talented, but she can still fuck black dudes with the best of them. She put in her time and did those extra reps to get to where she is today. Now compare that to Rodney King. You know what he did to becomes famous? He smoked a fat sack of PCP and got the shit kicked out of him. That’s literally all he did. Oh, and he became the figurehead of a riot which killed 53 people, ruined 10,000 businesses and caused $1 billion worth of damage, so… yeah, there’s that.

PS – If I was black and I was lit up by some cops like Rodney was I’d be turning that into book deals and Oprah appearances so fast you wouldn’t even remember what happened in the first place.
