Source – In what could be one of Chicagoland’s stinkiest crimes, a Plainfield man was charged this week in connection with the theft of a semi trailer containing 42,000 pounds of Muenster cheese with a street value of $200,000. Beniamin Balika, 34, of Plainfield, was arrested at about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday by New Jersey State Police as he loitered at a New Jersey turnpike rest stop, according to police spokesman Lt. Stephen Jones.
How fucking funny is this dude. Most guys hitting the black market try selling drugs. Maybe some stolen jewelry or electronic products. In Asia you can walk to the corner store and pick up a black market kidney no problem. All well-explored markets that have a reliable customer base. Well Ben Balika was having none of that shit. Forget falling in line with what everyone else was selling, he just wanted to bust that muenster cheese market wide open. Fly down the American interstate with the wind in his hair and 42,000 pounds of Muenster in his trunk. Going from deli to deli seeing if anyone wanted to drop a smooth $200,000 cash on some primo cheese no questions asked. Hey can’t fault the guy for trying. They say it’s always the insane ideas that end up being the most genius. Bet it would’ve worked it he was pushing Cheddar.
