Peek-A-Boob: Here's A Giant Tit To Help Celebrate Mother's Day In England

In honor of Mother’s Day in the U.K., British advertising agency Mother London unveiled a giant inflatable breast — complete with a nipple — on top of a building in the Shoreditch area of London. In a statement from the advertiser’s website, Mother London explained that the project was meant as gesture of support for women who had been made to feel embarrassed or ashamed for feeding for their babies in public.

“It’s hard to believe that in 2017, U.K. mothers still feel watched and judged when feeding public, by bottle or breast,” Mother London wrote in a blog post. “This was our Mother’s Day project. A celebration of every woman’s right to decide how and where they feed their children without feeling guilty or embarrassed about their parenting choices. #FreeTheFeed.”

Shoutout to moms who breastfeed. Also, shout out to moms who don’t breastfeed. When I was younger, seeing people breastfeed made me feel uncomfortable. I was prone to boob gazing and I didn’t wanna be caught. But, you’re kinda caught in between a rock and a hard place because breastfeeding isn’t sexual but nipples are. Breasts are supposed to transform in our minds when a baby is attached. That’s easier said than done to a young male who gets unwanted erections at unwanted times.

I think this huge boob in London is about exposure therapy. Exposure therapy is when you are consistently exposed to a stimulus in order for that stimuli to no longer stimulate you with the same force or emotional affect as it did at the onset of initial exposure. I don’t know if that’s the actual definition because I just made it up but it sounds hella good so let’s roll with it. The more we see boobs, the less we care about them.

I dunno if that works or not but getting rid of the stigma of breastfeeding in public is actually good. Being a mom who feeds her kids is rough. You gotta find special rooms, working hours are difficult, and there’s the guilty looks that the mom gets for caring for her baby in a natural way. It’s a bizarre thing that we’ve done in giving stigmas to breastfeeding but we certainly have done it. Can we unring that bell? It’s gonna be hard but a huge titty on top of buildings is certainly a great place to start.

Also, I dont know what’s happening with my Instagram lately. In the discovery area, there’s way more breastfeeding pictures than in the past. Is that just me? Am I searching for things that give me public breastfeeding pics? I’ll be looking at pictures of people’s crops on Farm Simulator 17 and the next thing I know some tattooed woman will be breastfeeding her kid while doing yoga or someshit. I don’t mind it because I’m cultured. the more I see it, the less it shocks me. Maybe exposure therapy does work. Thanks, Instagram.

And that was talkin breastfeeding.
