Say farewell to the old Old Style standby, Cubs fans. Beginning next season, Anheuser-Busch will be the exclusive beer sponsor of the Cubs and Old Style, which had been closely affiliated with the North Siders for more than six decades, is out, the team announced Friday.

This was a very difficult decision following a decades-long relationship we enjoyed with this great brand,” the Cubs said in a statement on ending their relationship with Old Style, according to the Associated Press. “We will continue to offer Old Style and Old Style Light to our fans for our remaining games” this season.

One of the things that defines Barstool and Stoolies is their hatred for people that get outraged over the small things in life. We hate people who make a big deal out of something and take life too seriously. For instance, a stadium changing beer selection. But I have to admit, this pisses me off. It really does. I don’t love Old Style, I don’t seek it out at the bar, but I Love Old Style at Wrigley. That may sound dumb but anyone who has sat watching the Cubs lose year in and year out understands. It’s a part of the entire experience. It’s a part of Wrigley, and what makes it unique. Every stadium across the country serves Bud/Miller/Coors but Wrigley had Old Style. And again I usually hate people who can’t deal with change but this sucks. I’m just speaking from the heart, this is a move I am very much against. You want to add jumbotrons and update the park? Great, but you shouldn’t have taken away Old Style, and I feel like a lot of people agree.
