So the Holy Mother has been sick all year. Her illness is what made her son drop his appeal back in August, to spare her the stress and give him more time to visit her. She barely made it to any Pats games this year even though she’s been a regular around Gillette for 17 years. And now she summons up the strength to make to Houston to get a double shot of love from Mr. Kraft and her boy.

If we’ve learned anything from ballplayers hitting home runs for sick kids, a million Olympians and Rockys II through IV, never bet against someone who’s inspired by tragedy to a loved one. Patriots by infinity. What are we waiting for?!?
