ESPN – Who knows if anyone would have capitalized on it, but Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte wants to own the catchphrase he created. Lochte trademarked the phrase “Jeah” on Aug. 1, according to a filing with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. The filing reveals that Lochte hopes to put the word on everything from goggles to sunglasses to jewelry and beer mugs. The swimmer, who won two golds and two bronze medals in the 2012 Olympic Games, said his term is a modification of “Chea,” a word rapper Young Jeezy frequently uses. “It means, like, almost everything,” Lochte said, in a 2009 video posted on YouTube. “Like happy. Like, if you have a good swim, you say, ‘Jeah!’ “
I know saying you want somebody to die is really strong words, but I honestly think the world would be a better place if Ryan Lochte was dead. Not even joking. I really believe that. He’s just so fucking insufferable. Like the only thing more arrogant than trademarking a word is trademarking a word that nobody even knows exists in the first place. Like I watched all off the Olympics and I never heard Ryan Lochte say Jeah once. Probably because he was too busy getting his dick kicked inside out and getting lapped and shit, but the point remains. Bro you’re not that cool. You suck at swimming. You choke in the big moments and you’re not even good looking. Go crawl back into whatever hole you came out of and get out of my face with this shit. The Olympics are over you sideshow freak.
