Let me save the New York knuckle draggers a couple of minutes: "Spygate" "Manny and Ortiz took steroids" "Danny Ainge colluded with Kevin McHale" "The refs let the Bruins be thugs". There, all better?
by clownsauce on February 6th, 2012 at 5:47 PM
yeah cause buffalo really has a damn thing to do with this rivalry

Boston=Title Town The Best Team in the NFL was not even in the Super Bowl this year
by ryfield on February 6th, 2012 at 5:48 PM
thats a shame that all the boston fans have to turn to the past already to mop up their tears
by knightsweinthis on February 6th, 2012 at 5:49 PM
Good job losing to the Giants in the superbowl 2x in 4 Years, Faggot.
by clownsauce on February 6th, 2012 at 5:49 PM
BOSTON IS NOT TITLE TOWN. why are you using the last decade (2002-2012) as some kind of arbitrary cut off. How bout we back it up to where this shit started. I believe the score is 56 to 35 NEW YORK. Now, kindly go fuck yourselves.
by clownsauce on February 6th, 2012 at 5:50 PM
poster is inaccurate by the way. patriots have two rings in the last decade, not 3.
by oh herro on February 6th, 2012 at 5:51 PM
Not fair to do Boston vs. New York State. Doesn't change the result but the Sabres and Bills are not part of this.

by man on February 6th, 2012 at 5:53 PM
numbers are skewed. for example, the giants and jets can't win it in the same year. also, why don't we look at these numbers pre 2000?
by knightsweinthis on February 6th, 2012 at 5:53 PM
All you faggot Boston fans are just bitter as fuck.
by uconn88 on February 6th, 2012 at 5:53 PM
Doesn't really make me feel better. Football and baseball are the only sports everyone gives a shit about. We're up 5-3. But those 2 of their wins were against us so they seem like they count for more. Sucks, but it's true.

This is the most pathetic thing el prez has ever posted. HAHA its really sad, whatever makes you feel better. HAHA
by unbanfitz on February 6th, 2012 at 5:57 PM
Look at all these trolls coming out of the woodwork, pathetic. Boston = true fans. NY = root for the Jets if they don't make it just flip flop and go for the Giants.
by jumpman23tw on February 6th, 2012 at 5:57 PM
Who knew the key to winning the Super Bowl is to post a negative point differential during the regular season?
by clownsauce on February 6th, 2012 at 5:57 PM
uconn is right. it's football and baseball. the other shit is just icing on the cake. only problem is it's actually 4-3 for the past decade. and something like 31-12 all time.
by mannyspooptowel on February 6th, 2012 at 5:58 PM
I love how many more New York fans are around after your team wins. Went the entire fucking year with 1/3 as many New York fans as Boston fans on this site, now all of a sudden you guys want to talk. Typical.
by BostonFan67 on February 6th, 2012 at 5:59 PM
New Yorkers are complete scumbags. Probably cheered when Bostonians died on 9/11.

by readyFUELZ on February 6th, 2012 at 6:06 PM
Isnt this kind of what Yankees fans like to say? Oh, and dirtyhernandez - just because someone makes fun of the patriots for being classless, cheating losers doesnt necessarily mean they're NY fans. I'm not a NY fan, I just simply cannot support a franchise tarnished by being scumbag cheaters. Fact, not opinion.
by alphapsi on February 6th, 2012 at 6:07 PM
Boston fans are so fucking delusional. No one except the few fans of the Mets/Jets/Nets/Islanders/(buffalo teams???) gives two fucks about them. The NY teams are the Giants, Yankees, Knicks, and Rangers. Those are the teams that represent the city. Those are the teams people think of when they think NY. Get fucked trying to throw other shit teams into the conversation as an excuse just because they play in same market.
Pats fans only have two rings in the past decade. Your dynasty is long dead, get over it faggot.
by mannyspooptowel on February 6th, 2012 at 6:07 PM

by johnnydoherty on February 6th, 2012 at 6:11 PM
get over yourselves, nobody has one or lost a sports argument in the history of sports arguments. you're never wrong, you're never right. just cheer for you're home team and when the seasons over its over, look forward to next year.
by screwthehabs on February 6th, 2012 at 6:12 PM
Not a fan of either team, but I figure it won't be long before someone says "the giants don't even play in NY." I think it's important to note that East Rutherford, NJ is 13 miles from NYC, while Foxborough, MA is 30 miles from Boston. So if you're going to include Patriots titles in a 'Boston' count, then the Giants are fair game as well.
by haterade1 on February 6th, 2012 at 6:12 PM
LOL AT ALL OF YOU BOSTON FAGGOTS!!!!!
by kentuckyfriedlackey on February 6th, 2012 at 6:12 PM
sorry new york. but it's simply proof that we're more successful. we simply have more success in sports than anyone else. that is all. 56 to 35 all time? 56 divided by 9 is rounded to 6. 35 divided by 4 is 8.75. BOSTON IS SIMPLY FUCKING BETTER. THANK YOU. keep trying new york!!
by conwaytwitty on February 6th, 2012 at 6:13 PM

by brutangclan on February 6th, 2012 at 6:19 PM
Clownsauce, let me fix your math for you shitbag. NY combined seasons of teams with most championships because it makes no sense to include every team when Boston only has one. Yankees, Rangers, Knicks, Giants- 346 seasons, 41 titles= .118 win pct. Boston, Red Sox, Pats, Bruins, Celtics.. 313 seasons, 43 titles= .137 win pct. Shut the fuck up.

what bostonians don't get, what they never will get, is that a city is not solely judged by the success of its sports franchises. to say that new york is a lesser city because its teams have produced less championships in the past decade is just plain idiotic.
by BarstoolHooligan on February 6th, 2012 at 6:31 PM
Throwing in the Islanders, Sabers and Bills eh?
Desperation is a stinky cologne El Pres
by dirty30 on February 6th, 2012 at 6:33 PM
brutang where are you getting 41 boston championships from? By a quick wikipedia search you can see that all those teams have won 33 combined championships. giants, knicks, rangers, yankees have more than that
by andyrooneyisagod on February 6th, 2012 at 6:36 PM
They have more than double how many teams we have and less than half the championships, we fucking own them and it's not even close. New York sports is a fucking embarrassment.
by dirty30 on February 6th, 2012 at 6:37 PM
wait i mean 43? you said 43 championships for the celtics, patriots, bruins, and sox?
by EZBreezey2222 on February 6th, 2012 at 6:37 PM
@pedoriahasaids - poor NYC public school failure. yanks have 27 titles. now lets do some simple addition: 17 (C's) + 7 (Sox) + 3 (Pats) + 6 (B's) = 33. All 4 Boston teams are in the top 4 in their respective sports for most titles ever. NYC has two teams in the top 4. all that said that loss ripped my fucking heart out....
by otwisted on February 6th, 2012 at 6:37 PM
Scratch my last comment. Brutangclan you fucking asshole where did you learn math? Sox, Pats, Bruins, Celts have 33 tites in 313 seasons for a win % of .105
.
PS: I would leave the Buffalo teams out but NY like to claim the NJ Devils and Nets as their own.
by brutangclan on February 6th, 2012 at 6:46 PM
Haha true that, typed in boston titles and saw 43. I was just using top 4 teams to prove my point but it won't work with those numbers. Let me put it another way. NY won plenty of titles, Boston has won plenty of titles. However if you take all the seasons NY teams have had and compared them to all teams Boston has had, the Boston percentage would be higher and that's even if you take out years that one ny team won and the other one didn't. I'm not doing the math again for that but it's a fact. But on top of all that, 90% of the people on this site weren't alive for 90% of yankees rings and same goes for celtics fans so I tend to comment more on shit going on in my lifetime.
by nbeskrowni on February 6th, 2012 at 6:51 PM
im sick of these fucking new yorkers like why the fuck are you here this is BOSTON barstool and this "good century vs good decade" is bull shit cause i bet your great grandpa still gives two shits about the Yankees Just stfu and get outta here you pricks
by fidel cashflow on February 6th, 2012 at 6:58 PM
“Matt and I fight like teenage girls,” said Tom Brady, speaking of backup QB Matt Cassel. “We are always slapping each other around and wrestling and slap boxing and [messing] around with each other in the weight room. And so I decided to take that to the next level. And we were messing around in the quarterback room one day and he walked in with a milkshake, and I kind of put my foot by the door, and I kicked the door and the milkshake splashed up and went all over him. So he sat down, and I was laughing. So I said give me the towel, because I wanted to clean up the wall. So I threw the towel at his face, and it had shake all over it. He had a little shake in his mouth and he spit it all over me.”
by patsfootballchieftain on February 6th, 2012 at 7:03 PM
Idk who declared that baseball and football are the "only sports that matter" because there are 4 sports that matter to any legitimate sports fan (baseball, football, hockey, basketball) clearly. And fuck the people saying the Patriots dynasty is over they have won more championships than the Yankees since '01 (which IS relevant because thats when the Pats dynasty began) And the Pats can't buy the best team in the league year in and year out. If ur saying the Pats dynasty is over then the Yankees dynasty is long gone
by patsfootballchieftain on February 6th, 2012 at 7:07 PM
I heard so much more from Jets fans at the end of the season and begginning of the playoffs and now it seems like everybody in NY is a Giants fan....hmmm sounds like classic greasy new york turd burglers to me

El Pres, I see you're taking some tough criticism. Its funny because when things arn't going their way, they use the 27 "Got Rings?" excuse hahaha fuck them. I'll take my 3 superbowls, my two world series rings, my celt's title, and my fuckin' STANLEY CUP before I take any of New Yorks shitty championships.
P.S. What a bunch of fuckin' fair weather fans. New York pricks will ride Tom Coughlin's prick and then jump on Rex Ryan's feet when they feel like it.

yes we have a lot of teams because we have the largest city in the country so i guess it makes sense, and there aren't bandwagon fans.
For you fools that says New York City is a shit hole, smelly dump, rat infested, shit box city; you guys are kidding yourselves. New York City is the most popular city in the world alongside Tokyo, Paris, Los Angeles, and London. Envy is a deadly and ugly sin.

by dydjsix on February 6th, 2012 at 8:43 PM
how far you have fallen boston. how far you've fallen. i used to at least hate/respect you. but this? playing the old "yea well we have more shiny things than you do over the past infinite number of years!" defense is just embarassing for you. this is pathetic. And that's not even taking into account the fact that you included buffalo in this. Didn't know yankees fans are also pullin for the bills on sundays...cause theyre not. Go hibernate massholes.
by tanyon sturtze on February 6th, 2012 at 8:52 PM
If you people want to not include the giants bc they are the "New Jersey" Giants, can't you not count the Patriots as a team from Boston? They play 30 miles away, in Foxborough, and dont even include the word "Boston" in their name. Seems pretty easy to me, Pats aren't Boston.

congrats new england, you join the ranks of the buffalo bills and the dallas cowboys to lose to the same team twice in the Super Bowl, while your a "dynasty" too. doesn't matter how many championship you have in 10 years, how many came against new york teams? I'll tell you zero.
by otwisted on February 6th, 2012 at 9:13 PM
This whole my city is better than your city dick measuring contest is so fucking stupid, but i get it, most of us here on BSS are average Joes living paycheck to paycheck and the only pleasure we get is by sucking down some suds on the weekends with our buds and watching our sports teams in this miserable world. Both cities have enjoyed sports success across the 4 major sports during different eras but that doesn't make one city better thn the other. you wanna talk real talk we may possibly have a diffent perspective on things pretty soon when Israel and Iran go to war whch could possibly launch a global war, and you know what there will be New Yorkers standing side by side with Bostonians fighting the fight. Then our little sports battle will look silly.
by clownsauce on February 6th, 2012 at 9:24 PM
everyone who is saying jets and mets don't count to "real" new yorkers sounds like a faggot transplant from ohio. i'd say the vast majority of mets and jets fans are real nyers (born and raised in the area) unlike other teams like the yankees, patriots, and red sox that have bandwagon fans all over the country.

This thing one thing that keeps bugging me about this game, With :17 seconds left in the 4th quarter Giants get flagged for 12 men on field. However, the clock is killed down to :08 seconds and its only a 5 yard penalty. This is a MAJOR LOOPHOLE in this rule. In essence you can keep putting 12 guys out there for consecutive plays and kill the clock as the team only gets 5 yards each. The NFL better fix this rule because this can be taken advantage of
by gberro12 on February 6th, 2012 at 10:53 PM

Keep trying to sooth your pain through misleading graphs. Some of those teams truly don't count in the eyes of real new yorkers. What about splitting that decade in half and doing 5 years?? Think ny takes that one?? Or fuck it let's go back 15 years. Have fun dealing with a threepeete Yankees dynasty. Get fucking real. Look at it this way, as leat your shitty state saves money on the gas they would have needed for duck boats
PS when the rangers beat the bruins to go to stanley cup it will just make this hurt more. Lock it up
by BarstoolHooligan on February 6th, 2012 at 11:00 PM
Its not a loophole. If some team tried to do that the offense could just keep spiking the ball and take 5 yards for 1 second.
I'm not sure if Brady recognized it or not, but he saw the flag and took a shot down field. He could have just thrown it out of bounds to save some time but decided taking a shot was the right thing to do.
by crosbyspornostache on February 6th, 2012 at 11:01 PM
Do any of you guys want to know what a vagina feels like?
I promise I'll tell you if you retards stop having a dick measuring contest on a halfassed sports blog.
by 28ontheway on February 6th, 2012 at 11:09 PM
Fitz, you couldn't be more wrong. Giants and jets fans HATE each other. Only reason jets fans were pulling for gmen was because they were playing THE PATS. Such fucking cry babies it's unreal. If you fags had won there would have been 1,000 of u on BSNY before they presented the trophy. U lost get over it, or don't
by 28ontheway on February 6th, 2012 at 11:38 PM
This country is far worse off if NY disappears than Massachusetts. That's just a fact
by BarryBadrinath on February 6th, 2012 at 11:41 PM
Yeah cuz Yankees fans never mentioned that they've got 28 rings its the same thing. Fact is those numbers are remarkable and they make new yorkers jealous that they have amount of good teams as a state that has half as many teams. Yankees, giants, rangers are going to be very competitive for years to come so we should just get used that though
by BarryBadrinath on February 6th, 2012 at 11:42 PM
27*
by classless on February 6th, 2012 at 11:43 PM
NY always has an advantage every year in every sport with at least two teams playing in each league. Funny how fans distance themselves from, say, the Devils but will claim them when the facts suit their argument.
by BarryBadrinath on February 6th, 2012 at 11:45 PM
Buffalo couldn't have less to do with nyc, obviously shouldn't be on this list

by 28ontheway on February 7th, 2012 at 12:04 AM
Please stop making it seem like Boston readers never wander over to NY and vice versa it's a complete bullshit argument. The only thing these two fanbases can agree on is fuck the jets and everything Philly.

by bosox24 on February 7th, 2012 at 12:13 AM
I love it when NYers bring up all the Yanks titles from the 20s. I wasn't alive. I really could care less. That said, this doesn't make me feel better anyway.
by lax4life23 on February 7th, 2012 at 12:39 AM
El pres, your forgetting the Boston cannons! They won they MLL title this year.

what the fuck is wrong with you people. Life long Pats fan, came on for some entertainment and to hear people's take on the game. and nine out of ten of you retards from BOTH sides are crying, bitching, and running your mouths like a bunch retarded 5th graders. The Giants were the better team last night. SO WHAT??? Of course New York fans are watching our fan pages. We would do the same. Seriously though some of you people need your heads examined. Grow the fuck up. All New Yorkers are greasy scumbags?? All Boston fans are crybaby losers?? One idiot, readyfuelz even went so far as to say the Patriots are a classless organization. With one of the MOST respectful coaches and teams EVER??? Congrats to the Giants AND their fans for their win. BOTH sides need to save all your fag, cumguzzler, homo talk for whoever it is you get it on with thats into that shit. It makes everone who talks like that look and sound like a complete looser, no matter what your argument. None of you sound like actual sports fans. You sound like skin heads.

mmmmm, nice effort bro. Way to bring the heat on a blog post comment section. Fucking hero.
by peytonsucksballs on February 7th, 2012 at 3:07 AM
I can't wait till Herzlichs cancer comes back and he dies. I can't wait until Amares brother hits Eli when he's driving home tonight, oh wait. Maybe amare himself will hit Eli's car and they both die? Thats a win win.
Not to mention the fact that the 95-05 decade of Yankee teams were the biggest steroid using sandbagging teams in MLB history.
by piratesalsa on February 7th, 2012 at 3:21 AM
Change it to last five years and it's a different story.

THAT PARADE YOU GUYS ARE HOSTING IN BOSTON TODAY IS GOING TO BE CRAZY!!!

HAHA Hockey and Basketball!
by centurion on February 7th, 2012 at 10:30 AM
The fact is that the two G-Men titles came at the expense of Greater New England so fuck yo couches.
by hofasho on February 7th, 2012 at 11:12 AM
Come on Boston, grow up. I've seen this picture all over the place the last two days and its pathetic. Just accept defeat instead of trying to justify the loss...the fact that NY has more overall championships throughout time has just seemed to slip everyone's mind...
Mind you, I hate NY but I hate this goddamned picture more.
by BaconStrip on February 7th, 2012 at 11:43 AM
Clownsauce...There's not bandwagon NE fans all over, our fans just travel. NY fans move away and start cheering for the new home team. Sorry, but when your from NE, you don't have a choice about who you're a fan of. Oh, and NYG fans are the biggest group of fair weather fans I've ever seen.
by k1dd0 on February 7th, 2012 at 12:12 PM
You, and all of Boston are pathetic... If you wanna go back a decade why dont we go back 100 years? New York OWNS you with only 4 teams Yankes = 27, Giants = 6 Championships 4 Super Bowls Rangers = 4 Knicks = 2 thats 44
Boston = Pats - 3 Bruins = 6 C's = 17 Sox = 7 = 33 ... don't worry just 11 more.
by reppinme on February 7th, 2012 at 12:18 PM
i live in the midwest and my first thought was Pats cheated 3x and haven't won since so might speak volumes to how they won those first 3. Red Sox was Steroids University and haven't won shit since steroid testing took place
by dirtysanchize on February 7th, 2012 at 12:36 PM
ahh feel better now Pres? You are acting like the biggest fucking pussy. GROW UP BRO
by gronkshands on February 7th, 2012 at 12:44 PM
You Ny fans are more pathetic than ever. Lets all be jets fans until they choke and act like we give a shit about the giants. Going into week 16 at 8-7? Hop off the bandwagon.
by tornopen on February 7th, 2012 at 12:52 PM
@reppinme -- you are from the midwest, which leads me to believe you are among the countless masses of idiots who live out there. The Midwest is full of lazy ignorant Americans who praises Jesus all day and expect the government to take care of them. Typical brainwashed midwestern fucking idiot. Can't think for themselves, does whatever their pastor, and rubs his dick on the bible every night.
The midwest is a miserable wasteland. Indiana is a complete shithole, meth heads everywhere you turn.
Go fuck yourself. Patriots are not the cheaters you claim they are. The rest of the country is just jealous because fuckheads like Peyton Manning exist who you think is the 2nd coming of Jesus.
by exploding cigar on February 7th, 2012 at 6:05 PM
I was going to comment on how Buffalo and New York City are obviously not the same place and anyone who lumps them together as one metropolis is a fucking idiot.
But then I read the comment section and I saw something even stupider: Boston fans saying that we New Yorkers are all Jets fans "until they choke" and then we "act like we give a shit about the Giants." Ummm Jets fans, really? Do you really think the Jets are a more popular team in NYC than the Giants? Do you really think the Giants don't have an established fan-base and most people who root for them are "fair weather fans"? Try to stay grounded in reality next time.
by kevin9664 on February 8th, 2012 at 12:10 PM
Not sure if someone mentioned this but it should only be 6 championships since the Patriots first Super Bowl in 2001 is not in this past decade (2003-2012).
And I agree with the people saying Buffalo has nothing to do with this rivalry. I also have never met an Islanders fan in my life. I think the NJ Devils and soon to be Brooklyn Nets qualify well before Buffalo does.
