Sometimes a picture really is worth a thousand words.
Too much heroism for one picture.
Just when you’re ready to nuke humanity after the Koala bear picture, you get something like this and it restores your faith in people. Amazing stuff.
This is fucking awesome
No two more deserving of a nice vaca. Get the fund started Pres, send them somewhere nice.
Dude’s hat screams America!
Yo jdarts, these are actors right? These pictures gotta be fake, right alex jdarts jones?
obama should pin a medal on that man
I wish they were holding the muslim terrorists head but this is a nice pic too
This guy’s story is fucking crazy: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_Arredondo
this Americas way of telling the terrorist world, FUCK YOU
If Carlos doesn’t get a $1M check from a philanthropist and free dances for life at Centerfolds and the Glass Slipper, then this country should be ashamed of itself.
So no one is going to mention the fedora?
True heroes. Respect.
Carlos was a civilian at the finish line. Then the bomb went off, and he immediately defaulted to heading into danger to help others. His is the story that will always stick out when I think back to that week. How many times can you use the word “incredible” to describe a man, and the term is a vast understatement?
Excellent pic @Eddie I heard that Carlos gave him the Fedora, which is cool, not to spin a good moment, but part of me would be a little bummed if I had to wear a fedora for the media since it’s a gift and all that. But I guess only Carlos can rock the cowboy hat, and Carlos knows that.
Fucking love that guy.
the events that set this relationship in motion are amazing.
obama personally calls jason collins to congratulate him on being a fucking gay ball but doesn’t call Carlos Arredondo to thank him for doing something that would get him a medal if he was in the military… This guy saved a life and is an American hero but he isn’t black so I guess that means obama won’t acknowledge him.
rmcurtiss = gay
rmcurtiss thanks for injecting politics into every last corner of everything everywhere all the time.
Maybe without the “gay ball” he would of been better off but i got the point. Carlos is a hero and didnt just save one person. he should at least get a call saying thank you.
@Rob and @rmcurtiss Real heroes don’t ask for acknowledgment
@phyckyiu And he has not once asked for acknowledgment. Bottom line is the guy did something not many would do and and saved Jeff’s life as well as others. After the life he has had and the sacrifice he and his family made for this country, he deserves some recognition from the leader of our country who is willing to bend over backwards for people who absolutely do not deserve it.
Now that’s a hero right there.
Is carlos wearing the exact same shirt as the day of the bombings? weird
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04/23/stella-tremblay-boston-bombing_n_3140461.html We have some real crazies up here.
@Harry – yes, same shirt, with I believe are the pics of his deceased sons on it. His 20-year-old eldest son Lance Corporal Alexander Arredondo died in action during Iraq War in 2004, and on December 19, 2011, Carlos Arredondo’s surviving son, Brian Arredondo, committed suicide, after battling depression and drug addiction ever since his brother’s death. He was 24 years old at the time.
@phyckyiu you’re right and he never asked for shit. We the people are asking for him. If a president that says he’s so in touch with the people never seams to pick the right person to call. Remember beer gate at the White House? Where’s Carlos’s invite? He is the true meaning of a man and a American. He didn’t have to run into the bombings like he did and save life’s like he did.
I want to scream the Costa Rican Anthem
Ill Feed These guys pizza For life
Why don’t these anti Obama commenters admit that they also hate Carlos for being Hispanic?
Is that the only T-shirt he owns? Kind of like that chick that always wore the same dress on Seinfeld.
That guy is tough man having both your legs blown off and still staying so optimistic! Carlos is a hero and I think he is my first pick to throw the electric chair switch on that pussy still left alive
I believe that everything in life happens for a reason. We don’t always like or understand it but we have no control over it. Carlos Arredondo and Jeff Bauman were meant to cross paths. There lives were changed and what happened that day will keep them connected to one another for the rest of their lives. This story restored my belief that when disaster strikes people are inclined to pull together and help one another. We all have a purpose in life. Maybe Mr. Arrendondo’s purpose is to help others. His natural instinct to jump in and assist those that were injured is a gift. Many would not be able to do that. God Bless him and God Bless Jeff Bauman whose smiling face tells me that he is very special, too.
