Listen it’s a known fact that as long as Josh Beckett wears a Red Sox uniform this team and this franchise is doomed. He’s like a malignant tumor that infects the host body and won’t stop spreading until it kills everything it touches. Nobody will debate that. It was a known fact he was a problem last year. It’s a known fact he’s a bum now. So my question is why is he still on this team? Why is he still being trotted out to the mound? There is zero explanation except that John Henry is either too cheap to eat his contract or he just doesn’t care about the Red Sox anymore because he’s too involved with soccer and race car driving and everything else he’s got his hands in. There is just no bigger slap in the face to Boston right now than this guy still playing for us. It’s like John Henry, Larry Lucchino and Tom Werner are spitting in our eye every single day that goes by and Beckett remains part of this team. Until he is cut we’ve just got to assume this ownership group flat doesn’t give a fuck about winning, this city or anything related to the Red Sox.

Josh Beckett is Larry Lucchino's guy. He traded Hanley Ramirez to get him while Theo was out in the gorilla suit. Now that Theo is gone to Chicago, there is no one in that organization that will fight the One-eyed Bandit on anything. If the Sox do eat Beckett's salary, watch the Cubs pick him up and play him on John Henry's dime.
