So obviously last night it was all Arod all the time. From Dempster throwing 3 straight pitches at him, to Arod going deep, to him getting booed all night. I felt like I was watching Summerslam everytime he came to the plate. And then it hit me. I don’t even hate Arod anymore. I used to hate him with the intensity of a thousand white-hot suns back when hating Arod was still hip. I’m talking like 10 years ago when people still thought he was the chosen one and didn’t see through his schtick yet. When reporters still sucked his dick.
But those days are long gone. Everybody hates him now. The Yankees hate him. MLB hates him. His teammates hate him. Other players hate him. He’s on the verge of getting suspended for like 2 years. He gets booed in every city he goes. Nobody has Arod’s back. Nobody. So what fun is it to hate a guy like that? That’s when I start liking you. And if Arod wasn’t such a putz and would just embrace the roll of the villain I’d probably like him too.
Seriously I still don’t get why he tries to act like a nice guy and play the whoa is me card. Even his interview after the game last night was so disingenuously polite. Bro everybody is onto you. You need to go full heel. Come up to the plate with a vanity mirror. Constantly be hitting on chicks in the crowd during the game. Push little girls down flights of steps and shit. Stuff money in people’s mouths. Degrade people. Roll around town with a harem of body builder chicks beating motherfuckers up. That’s Arod’s only move at this point. Become the villain everybody already thinks you are. That’s your best chance to win back the public. Just lead and the people will follow and so will I.
