Washington – In news that broke yesterday afternoon, a teacher in Tacoma, accused of having multiple sexual encounters with an underage student, was officially charged with five counts of second-degree child rape on June 26 in Pierce County Court. Prosecutors say Keshia T. Shaw raped a former student five times between April 8, 2007 and Dec. 31, 2008. Now 17, at the time the victim was 12-years-old, and a student in Shaw’s sixth-grade class at Gray Middle School in Tacoma. Shaw was the student’s science and math teacher… Shaw had performed oral sex on him and had sexual intercourse with him “three to four times when he was in sixth grade.” On May 9 police interviewed the victim who added details to the allegations. The now 17-year-old told investigators that at the conclusion of his sixth grade year he retook an exam in Shaw’s classroom. During the exam, the victim told authorities that Shaw sat directly in front of him, and that he noticed she wasn’t wearing underwear under her dress. Charging documents state, “the defendant caught him looking at her and asked if he was turned on.” From there, charging documents contend Shaw took the victim to a room between her classroom and the classroom next door, where she performed oral sex on the victim. After the oral sex, according to charging documents, Shaw and the victim had vaginal intercourse… about week later he again stayed after school and Shaw allegedly raped him for the second time… they engaged in oral, vaginal and anal sex… The following year… Shaw drove the boy to a bank, withdrew $80 and gave it to him. Shaw then drove to a parking lot where she allegedly performed oral sex on the boy – which marked the last time the two saw each other.
In a time when we’ve got aging DH’s making $14.5 million a year complaining about being “humiliated” and pitchers going on the DL with sore necks and tight lats and such, it’s easy to lose track of what we’re playing for. To forget what we love about the game in the first place. It’s the same with the Sex Scandal Teacher game. We get so caught up in the minutae sometimes… who looks how good, who did what to whom, how far she actually went with the kid… that we lose focus and forget what about the game we love so much. I mean, this is playing for the pure love of the game. A 12 year old student. Pulling the old Sharon Stone on the kid. Classroom BJs. Classroom boning. Anal. Paying the kid. More oral. The memories of Keisha’s seduction of this kid are so thick we have to brush them away from our faces. They remind us of what was good. And can be again. Is this heaven? No. It’s Tacoma.
The Grades:
Looks: I can never remember being so torn over two pictures. Granted no one likes the Dennis Johnson freckles. But still that first picture is alright. Like I’d be down with the swirl if I knew that was what the lawyers call “a fair and accurate representation.” But that second picture is almost a deal killer. She looks like a cross between Robin Roberts and Jobu. The bottom line is I have to think the hair is making Picture 1 and mark her down. Besides, any woman who can give oral to a 6th grader and still have to finish him off vaginally has to be gross. Grade: C-.
Moral Compass/Bad Judgment: This is a total effort effort player. She’s just relentless, grinding out every at bat. And anal is like having opposite field power, that kind of added bonus that only the superstars have. Grade: A.
Intangibles: “50 Shades of Gray Middle School.” Grade: A.
Overall: B. The performance is all there for her to rank among the best at the end of the year, but I’m going to really have to overlook Picture 2. And I’m not sure I can. I’ve never been more nervous waiting for a mug shot in my GNSST career.
