RotoExperts – Listen to local Kansas City radio sports talk show host “Bulldog” Bob Fescoe, the host of Fescoe in the Morning heard weekdays from 6am-9am on 610 Sports Radio in KC as he sums up what it’s like to be a Chiefs fan heading into their Week 3 matchup against the New Orleans Saints at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
The audio clip goes on for 4:44 adding constant insult to injury. Here’s an excerpt from the :31 second mark.
“Stop embarrassing yourselves! You’re embarrassing your mother. You’re embarrassing your father. You’re embarrassing the city. You’re embarrassing your wife and your children. … You’re an embarrassing train wreck to the 2.5 million people that call this metro area home. You’ve let down all the old ladies that are on life support, rooting for you, trying to pull out another day. You give people nothing to live for. You suck.”
… and it gets better from there.
You know, there are times when you have to stop for a moment and see how bad those less fortunate have it so you can truly appreciate just how fortunate you are. It’s like the old saw “I wept because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.” I mean, listen to the pain in Bulldog Bob Fescoe’s voice. Hear the cry of a man screaming about the fans in his town being dumped on and pooped on and crapped on. And feel the anguish of a city that has no hope. And now realize Bulldog’s anger isn’t all that much worse than what’s been directed at your New England Patriots all week. The difference being that the good people of Kansas City are in a desperate situation. Something to be legitimately angry about. Whereas here, all the vitriol is over the Pats losing a home game and Wes Welker getting “benched” to the tune of 5 catches for 95 yards. Sure, that was a tough loss to take. But count your blessings; at least they didn’t kill any old ladies on life support.
PS. Based on this, I suppose we can put Patriots West officially in the column of “Belichick Disciples Who Failed When They Left”, can’t we? Let’s see, that would give us Romeo Crennel in Cleveland and KC, Charlie Weis in Notre Dame, Judas Mangini in New York and Cleveland, Josh McDaniels in Denver and Scott Pioli in KC. With Bill O’Brien warming up in the on deck circle in Pedo State. The good news for us is, when Crennel and Pioli get fired, they can always follow McDaniels back to Foxboro. @JerryThornton1
