INDIAN ORCHARD, Mass. (WWLP) – Springfield police say they caught an ice cream lady and a truck driver buying drugs from a woman they let inside their “Ding Dong Cart.” Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News that officers caught Tricia Martins, 39, of Ludlow selling morphine to Joshua Gibbs, 26, of Springfield, and Sarah Christian, 33, of Chicopee. Delaney says officers saw Martins leave her minivan and enter the Ding Dong Cart. Once inside, police allegedly observed her selling morphine tabs to Christian and Gibbs. Delaney says Martins then left the truck with cash, but without any ice cream. Officers then surrounded the truck and arrested the three.According to Delaney, after the suspects were arrested, Christian was allowed to call her father to take the truck away, so that the ice cream would not melt.
First things first. What’s up with Joshua Gibb’s eye? Is it just always like that? Like I kept waiting to hear about the part when he got punched in the face or something. Nope. No mention of it. Guy just sitting there driving the Ding Dong truck with one eye swollen shut like it ain’t no thing. But that’s neither here nor there. More importantly how would you like the dad who had to come pick up the ice cream truck? How depressing a phone call is that to receive? Your 33 year old daughter asking you to come pick up her ice cream truck because she just got caught buying morphine inside of it and now all the ice cream is melting. Can it get any lower than that?
PS – What kind of name for an ice cream truck is the Ding Dong truck? I kept thinking it was literally a ding dong truck. Like that’s all it sold. Ding Dongs. Stupid name.
