(HuffPo) – A rare skin condition is causing one 28-year-old woman to grow human nails instead of hair. Criminal justice student Shanya A. Isom first saw signs of the condition in 2009, when she had an asthma attack that doctors treated with steroids. When Isom had an allergic reaction to the medicine, she developed bumps on her leg and her skin tone began to darken, the New York Daily News reports. Memphis doctors attempted scores of treatments, for conditions ranging from eczema to staph infections. None were successful. “They’ve tested me from A to Z, and everything was coming back negative,” Isom told WAFB.
Move the fuck over, India. America officially has the most disgusting disorder on the planet. Yeah your people with bark growing on them and extra limbs and shit is weird, but growing fingernails out of your head like you’re fucking Hellraiser takes the cake. I’ve ignored plenty of shortcomings when it comes to women. I’ve overlooked lunacy and smelling funny and maybe a paunch here and there. I’ve ignored bad teeth, a Fran Drescher laugh and even this chick once who I’m pretty sure had a mustache. But a hairline and legs ripe with rogue fingernails is where I draw the line. I have a hard enough time finding the clitoris as it is, never mind having to dodge cuticles and shit down there. Can’t even grab onto her hair a little bit without the whole scene turning into some Chinese fingernail torture.
