Bostonherald – State police and Somerville cops converged on Dilboy Stadium after a bench-clearing brawl during a women’s full-contact football game that sent one player to the hospital with a broken leg. No arrests were made during the melee Saturday between the Boston Militia and the DC Divas during a pivotal playoff tilt.“It was a hard-fought battle between two competitive teams,” Clemmey said. “There was a lot of trash-talking during the game. But the mayhem that broke out was shocking and disappointing.” “A fight broke out between a Boston player and a Diva player on about the 20 yard line on the Diva side of the field and out of view of the cameras,” the report states. “It is not clear how the fight broke out, but both benches ran to the fight, and a general scuffle ensued.”BTW, the undefeated Militia won the game, 55-34. They are the Women’s Football Alliance’s defending national champions and are one win away from the national title game in Pittsburgh on Aug. 4. They play the Chicago Force on July 21.
I saw this yesterday and was waiting for the video to surface. Everybody freaking out about it. I don’t know why. This is what happens everytime the Boston Militia and DC Divas lock horns. It’s the most bitter rivalry in all of the WFA. Everybody knows that. The winner of this game has gone on to win the title every year in the league’s existence. I blogged about how much these teams hated each other 2 years ago. (Turned out the Militia QB was a Stoolie and fairly cute. I couldn’t find the blog I wrote about her though) Anyway this is legit hatred. I’m talking 70’s Yankees vs. Red Sox hatred. So naturally there are going to be a few scraps. The better question is what planet do these women come from and how does this league afford to stay in business.
PS – Yes I know Kmarko blogged this already. Guess what assholes. I stay up till 1am blogging every night building my pipeline for the morning. If somebody else blogs the same shit as me I don’t throw it in the trash can. So go eat a dick.
