Repubofteaxas because BC alums tend to think of the school as an academic Harvard and an athletic Florida when really they are 3.5 out of 5 academically and a 2 out of 5 athletically.
Serves them right for cancelling the UMass series. BC is a needlessly arrogant institution with a third rate athletics program masquerading as relevant because Doug Flutie did something cool THIRTY years ago and because it has a good hockey team...and no one gives a shit about college hockey anyway. They lost to the zoo by 36 last year and then cancelled the series...why? Evidently to schedule cupcakes like Bryant...and lose. I mean, if you're gonna take losses, at least play respectable opponents.
BC has run a trash basketball program since they left for the ACC and their Big East recruits ran out. Football will rebound. And our Hockey is the shit. We underachieve but not at the rate Michigan does in all of their athletics so its not like its Alabama over here with any real right to trash BC anyway. Fuck it.
BC is a bunch of dicks - and my dad went there. They're all delusional and think they went to a much better school than they actually did (which they realize when they leave new england) and their sports programs are just lackluster. I couldn't stand the douchiness there when I was looking at colleges back in the day, and despite getting in had no desire whatsoever to attend.
It's funny, because I'm attending BC right now, and about 5% of my fellow Eagles are delusional douche bags. Most conversations I have with people here are about (A) how fucked we are after graduation, (B) how horrendous every sports program besides hockey is, and (C) how dumb our occasional "safety school" chants are at the Beanpot to BU and NU. I know stereotypes are hard to shake, but if you went over to Chestnut Hill, you'd realize that BC is full of stool-reading, beer-drinking, sports-loving kids who know how their school pales in comparison with the big boys. Nobody thinks, or wishes, it was Harvard.
