WebsterPost – As the (Red Jacket Indians) were preparing for its sectional game against Harley-Allendale Columbia Tuesday, the players learned their coach, Rich Miles, wouldn’t be on the bench. The school district elected to fire the coach over a disagreement about player discipline. Miles said he kicked a player out of practice Saturday for being disrespectful. The coach had a precedent for suspending players for one game if they acted that way. In this case, the player was going to be suspended for Tuesday’s game. According to Miles, the player’s parent contacted Red Jacket Superintendent Robert Leiby to complain about the suspension, and Leiby instructed Miles to play the student. Miles said he refused and Leiby asked the coach for his resignation. According to Miles, he refused and was then fired. “It’s impossible to maintain any sense of order or discipline because the kids know they can go to mommy or dad and they’ll go the district,” Miles said. “Because of the things I believe in, it makes it incredibly difficult to instill any good order and prepare them for the real world. I’ve done my best for four years.”
I feel like we get a new story like this every day now. Some coach being fired because an unhappy player’s parents complained to the school committee. It’s bizzaro world stuff. Like I know I’m beating a dead horse with this shit but I just don’t get how this helps anybody. Like what happens when this dude graduates from college and gets a job? Are his parents going to complain to his boss when something bad happens? Grow the fuck up. We’re grooming a country full of pussies. If you don’t get your way you just cry till you do. You don’t change your behavior. You don’t get tougher. You don’t get stronger. You don’t get smarter. You don’t try to improve yourself. You just cry like a little bitch till you get your way and think that’s how you solve all life’s problems. And people wonder why we’re getting our ass kicked in? Because of this shit. We got a nation full of kids growing up thinking nothing is their fault. They just point the finger at everybody else and when that doesn’t solve their problems they are left helpless. It’s the Lebronification of society. The inability to cope with adversity because they’ve never taken responsibility for their actions and had everything handed to them on a silver platter.
