Source – Hell hath no fury like a woman football fan scorned. An Alabama newspaper has apologized after running a lede that many of its readers found sexist. “Football can be a confusing and often vexing concept, especially for women,” read the lede to Al.com writer David Holloway’s Tuesday column. The piece, which dealt with a social event titled “Girls of Fall” that is co-hosted by the paper, quickly garnered numerous complaints, leaving Holloway to try and explain his thinking. “The ‘Girls of Fall’ event is not geared toward those women who are experts in football, but those who are not but want to learn more,” Holloway ventured in the article’s comment section. “We apologize for offending our readers. The story has been edited in response to the feedback we received.” On social media, some wondered aloud why Halloway required the negative reaction to realize his error in judgment.
And this right here is the problem with political correctness. You can’t even say something that’s true without a bunch of crybabies whining about how offensive and insulting it is. Lets all just think about this for a minute. How many times each season do you hear a chick say something outlandishly stupid about the game of football? Roughly 8 billion? That sounds about right. “Why is the ref moving the ball backwards now?” or “What period is it?” or “How come other players don’t slide like the quarterback just did?” Girls just get confused about the game easily. Not all of them, but a lot. It’s just what happens. Same way I get confused about how girl’s undergarments work or what the appeal of True Blood is. The different genders are good at some stuff and bad at others. It’s just a part of life. And in general, girls are bad at football. But you better not say it aloud or else you’re gonna have a bunch of feminists up your asshole crying about all sorts of injustices. Welcome to 2013, where the death of common sense is in full swing.
PS – And the best part is that you know the girls who made those comments about the article have absolutely no idea what football is about. They just needed something to bitch about that day.
