Kevin Kisner Just Holed Out For Eagle On The 72nd Hole To Force A Playoff At The Zurich Classic

Holy cow! Kiz! It’s the Tour’s first team event in 36 years and THIS is how its first 72 holes end. Kevin Kisner and Scott Brown 1 back of Jonas Blixt and Cameron Smith on the par-5 18th, final round, NEED an eagle after Cameron Smith hit an awesome pitch to 2 feet for birdie…. and Kisner does THAT. Drains it.

Gotta see it again.

Heroic. Ball was obviously coming in a little hot but that’s the beauty of the team event. That’s the beauty of knowing exactly what you need. You be aggressive because you’ve got nothing to lose — Kiz did that and JARRED it.

With all the rain delays (6.5 hours today alone) it was dark by the time they finished, so they’ll trot ‘em back out in the morning for a 9AM ET sudden death playoff. Best ball. Awesome stuff. Can’t wait.

Here’s what the (almost) final leaderboard settled to.

Hell of an event. Kudos to Zurich for taking initiative, mixing up the format, and getting a phenomenal result. And RIP to this guy.

PS — We also had pure chaos on the LPGA Tour tonight. 35 mph winds led to basically every gal playing over par in the final round, including the most-of-the-day leader Harukyo Nomura, who was 6-over on the back-nine before birdieing 18 to get into a playoff. Her and Cristie Kerr then played SIX playoff holes before Nomura finally won. Big night for lady golf fans everywhere.
