Grading the Newest Sex Scandal Teacher
North Carolina – A Myers Park High exceptional children teacher has been charged with one count of sexual activity with a student. Kristina Ngum, 43, turned herself in at the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office Saturday after Charlotte-Mecklenburg police obtained a warrant for her arrest. In addition to teaching, Ngum is the head coach of the Myers Park varsity cheer squad… A man who identified himself as Ngum’s husband, but declined to provide his first name, said Saturday he does not believe the charge against her. “That is not my wife,” he told The Observer in a phone interview. “She would not do that,” he said, adding that his wife often goes out of her way to help her students. “I would say that she is too overcaring.” …When Ngum was leaving Myers Park High Friday afternoon to pick up their children, the male student begged her to give him a ride, Ngum’s husband said. She was stopped by a police officer on the way home, according to the husband, who did not say why the car was stopped. He said that during the traffic stop, police found a drug on the student.
Let this be a lesson to all you kids out there: Stay away from drugs. Drugs ruin lives. They ruin relationships. And they ruin otherwise perfectly wholesome, healthy, normal affairs with your teachers. I don’t mean to preach. Believe me, I grew up in Weymouth, not Candyland. There were more narcotics running through my high school than a Walgreens. But the kids I ran with were way more interested in finding a packy that would take a badly faked ID than drugs. And there’s not a kid among us that would’ve passed up the chance to bone a MILFy teacher just to get high. But you take this kid; no sooner did he get caught possessing than he narced on poor Mrs. Ngum and destroyed her life. But that’s what you get for dating a druggie. Lie down with dogs and you get fleas. Like the PSA used to say “Why do you think they call it dope?” In the Sex Scandal Teacher business we say “Hugs, not drugs.” “Blow jobs, not blow.” And “Get high on regular sex from your depraved high school cheerleading coach, not drugs.”
The Grades:
Looks: I like the confident stare. The “Uh, huh. That’s right; I’m a sexual deviant” look in her eye. And for a second there I thought she kind of looked like a low-rent version of Patricia Clarkson, who played Herb Brooks’ wife in “Miracle.” But that’s giving her too much credit. I can’t go any higher than Grade: C-.
Moral Compass/Bad Judgment: If I can go all Law & Order here, I don’t know if we’ve even got enough evidence to bring an indictment, much less a conviction. Sorry, but I need more to go on than the statement of some druggie kid. Grade: D-
Intangibles: I love the husband here. Every SST husband needs to issue a statement. It should be mandatory; like the way NFL coaches have to give a presser once the season is over. And they should all handle it like Mr. Ngum. “My wife is overcaring. For instance, sending that freshman 5,000 texts or the way she gave him a blow jibber in the classroom while his buddy watched was waaay overcaring…” Grade: B+
