Flashback To The Time Chris Mortensen Appeared On WEEI During Superbowl Week And Defended All His Lies

I almost feel bad for Chris Mortensen here. There was no way for him to realize he was being used like a patsy by the NFL. That he was about to become Lee Harvey Oswald. That the NFL was going to throw him away like a used condom after Deflategate was over. That his entire career, livelihood and reputation was about to be flushed down the toilet. There was no way for him to know that in real time.  So if he just admitted he was duped and begged for forgiveness I’d think about forgiving him.

Instead he has grown a vagina and pretty much gone into hiding. Bailing on radio appearances and living in isolation. Poor Mort. If only he knew then what he knows know. That everything he was saying during Superbowl Week were bald face lies. That the Patriots balls weren’t 2 PSI each underweight. That most of the Colts balls weren’t measured at all. That 3 out of the 4 Colts balls that were measured were also under 12.5 PSI. In other words everything Chris Mortensen was saying was dead wrong. It’s stunning in retrospect to listen to this interview. Nobody has ever been more wrong about more things than him.

The NFL trotted Mort out there like a puppet and watched him dig his own grave. He says he went back to Kensil to make sure his info was correct when there started to be conflicting reports and Kensil still lied to him. Mortensen was told that the Wells Report would vindicate him. It did the exact opposite. It ended his career. And the crazy part is the Wells Report was paid for by the guys who fed him the false info. That’s how far off he was. Even though the Wells Report was a propaganda piece designed to confirm Deflategate was real they still couldn’t figure out a way to validate his reporting. And now Chris Mortensen is the punchline of a joke.

Have pride for me 1 time Mort and tell people what happened. ESPN isn’t protecting you anymore. The NFL isn’t protecting you. Can’t you see that? They are leading you to slaughter. They are letting you dangle in the wind. Do something. Do anything. The truth will set you free Mort.
