Listen, I know there’s been a million of these tributes (and rightfully so) for Robin Williams and probably the last thing you want to do during the afternoon on a Tuesday is get all choked up. But here are the facts: when David Letterman talks, I listen. That’s a rule everybody should live by. And when he decides to talk about Robin, a guy he knew for 38 years and started at the Comedy Store with, then listening becomes mandatory. When the great David Letterman (one of the funniest guys in the history of ever) talks about himself basically being chopped liver in comparison to someone else, that’s when you know he’s talking about a special talent. That’s exactly what Robin Williams was. A special talent.
The montage at the end demolished me.
