BOSTONCBS cameras focused on Brady during the team’s Nov. 30 game against the Green Bay Packers as he repeated an expletive several times. The network did not air the audio, but viewers complained, saying even their young children could see what he was saying. “My 6-year-old children know how to read lips even if there is no sound. So why during the telecast is CBS going out of their way with 1:53 minute left in the first quarter between the Patriots and the Packers game to show Tom Brady screaming the F word on national TV?” an Indianapolis parent complained to the FCC. Brady was upset that Green Bay got a first down in the last two minutes of the game, killing his chance for a last-minute comeback win. Another person complained that keeping “the camera on Tom Brady as he kept yelling was uncalled for.” “Just because there was no sound, it was clear enough to everyone. It was almost as if the announcers got away with it, because they did not actually say it. Very unprofessional,” wrote the parent of a 10-year-old boy.

Wanna know something crazy? I 100% agree with these parents. I’m not a silly, old bitch so I’d never snitch to the FCC, but what they’re saying is absolutely correct. It’s not like these people are acting like the Globe and saying Brady is a bad sport because he says the F word when he’s angry, they’re not blaming Brady at all. They’re saying CBS knows exactly what they’re doing and that’s true. CBS seeks out Brady when they know he’ll be swearing, they put it in slow-mo, then they throw their hands up like they’re just as surprised as everyone else by what he said. “We KNOW! We’re the real victims here! We had no idea what Tom Brady would be saying after that interception so blame his potty mouth and not us!” So, yeah, I stand with these people. Everyone has been making such a scene about Brady swearing but nobody blames CBS. Thanks to these brave souls for doing what is necessary to protect our children.
