My buddy's an electrician. Can't get any work around here. Went to Iraq to make (at least) double pay, no expenses, etc. to help get that shithole up and running. Fucking joke. Can't make a living here but can make $ rebuilding desert that didn't want it.

Good luck to your pal. The money is there for any tradesman willing to take the risk. Is he a master or journeyman? Is he union? (I'm guessing probably not.)

The rule used to be that Plumbers and Electricians were immune to recession. I guess that's not the case anymore.

basic admin duties from what i know......had to go through 4 weeks of training and such. I think they can only do it for a year tax free, if im not mistaken

i know if i had nothing going on here I definitely would have went. its not like you can spend money on anything over there. She works like 14 hour days and is in a compound of some sort the rest of the time

Some of you are absolute retards.

1) You couldn't pay me a million bucks tax free to live and work in Iraq.

2) Playa del carmen isn't 1/100th as bad as any other part of Mexico and you are an absolute moron if you avoid it as if its a war-torn part of the world.

My friend got offered 200k to go to Tel Aviv to be a consultant for a jewelry company(?) and told them to go fuck themselves. But I'd go to Iraq in one of those army/security protected compound.
