Kid, get on that good Escobar shit. It's one of the top 3. Crazy story and very well done.

The shit SMU did probably wasn't even in the top 20% of the worst shit pulled by schools in the 90s and I don't recall too many more death penalties after SMU. Looking forward to that one.

Have yet to watch the Marion Jones one or one from tonight.

Notes: Evert-Martina one wasn't up my alley (not/totally intended), the Sox comeback was handled much better by Ken Burns on 10th Inning---this one was a run-of-the-mill MLB-made production ready for DVD shipment (Lenny Clarke and Simmons fake-drinking saying "Wow, me too!" was brutal and brought nothing), the USFL one had some great footage, Allen Iverson one didn't really offer any new insight on what happened, the Tyson/Tupac one was flawed but overall entertaining, and the Fernandomania one just made me feel old.

Mk, I read that the last several are still in flux, either already in the can or not even made yet. No shocker they have more than 30 and will whittle it down.

I'm not a big tennis fan by any means, but the Navratilova/Evert episode was done well and kept me watching. In contrast, I play fantasy baseball and football and have for years yet the one on that topic was awful and hard to watch.

The Marion Jones episode just plain sucked, IMO.

The USFL episode and the Jimmy the Greek episode were both very good, but just not top 5, IMO.

Obviously, I couldn't force myself to watch the Red Sox episode.

Simmons said today they are going to turn the series into 30 for 30 presents and come out with 4 to 5 new docs each year..

He also said he was gonna finish his list of top 72 (?) sports movies 7 years ago and pretends to be a Bruins fan when playoffs roll around.

He also said he was going to become a fan of a premier league soccer team (bolton? man city? i forget) and write about them like he was some sort of super fan.

I don't remember him following through on that.

This is already a done deal said they have production team working on it

Bartman doc will air next spring and he said thats by far the best of the bunch... focus more on scapegoats in sports then the actual interference
