Pitching Coach

Postby longfellowjohnson13 » Sun Oct 31, 2010 11:10 pm

With the sox pitching coach leaving, someone needs to fill his spot. I have the best solution for that. Jason Varitek. He knows the pitchers, and is a great pitch caller. Not to mention the Red Sox fans love him. He wants another contract, but maybe instead of a player contract they could offer him a coaching contract.

Congrats to Tooler on being right that Beltre and Martinez won't be coming back

Does Kevin Youkilis know something we don't? It sounds that may be the case, as the rehabbing all-star told reporters over the weekend that "I'm preparing myself to play third base."

But Youkilis adds that he's preparing to be the third baseman in Boston next year but only because he does not want to be caught off guard. "Because if you prepare yourself to play third base and you play first, it's an easy transition."....

Peter Gammons of MLB.com stated last week in a radio interview that he does not expect Victor Martinez back in Boston next season, which opens the door for the all-star catcher to test the free agent market.
