Thanksgiving

Traditional Turkey dinner at uncle's place (formerly my grandparents' place) like I've done for all but two T'givings. Stay til end of Pats game (how great that we get a Pats game on T-Day?). Then go to the other half's family for Round Two of the shovel-thon and other two games. Squeeze in a nap somewhere.

Made our first T day meal for my wife's family last year. Came out really well. So fucking glad I'm not doing it again

I just wish the Pats game wasn't the first game

I'm glad the days of having to go to multiple houses on Thanksgiving and Christmas are long gone for me. We do the cooking and the people come to us. Cleanup isn't bad with enough helping hands and I'm not forced to eat everyone's "special recipe" so as to not hurt feelings.

I'd much rather hit 2-3 houses than host.

Well, we're a family of 6 and then my parents and brother are the others. The dad-in-law may or may not drive up. Just much easier for us to host.

Plus, I'm the one with the big screen TV which is crucial for Thanksgiving Day football viewing.

I may be fucked. My wife's Grandmother has had some serious health issues (and has a lump on her pancreas that nobody is talking about) so her aunt is hosting in a very kid unfriendly house. She has all sorts of breakables within easy reach of our curious one and two and a half year old so There will be no relaxing at all for us until we leave. She'll probably schedule it at 3:00 and won't have the tv on so we can all "chat"

In-laws, upstate NY. My SIL does it every year, with 20-25 people. Traditional food, just plenty of it. She does all the meat/veggies while another SIL does all the baking.

Hanging at my SIL's house that weekend is always quality. Leftovers & football galore, all on a wicked comfy brown leather recliner w/ her beagle snuggled-up w/ me.

Can't come soon enough.

home to boston tuesday night, in RI thursday for early dinner, to West Roxbury to aunt's for late dinner, 8am flight back to DC friday morning.

Uncle's House in the MVC (hollah at Sim and SC) in fantastic addition that features radiant heating under the floorboards and leather couches you melt into after dinner/dessert.
