I interviewed the one applicant who stood out above the others today. She's fantastic, and I gave her the gig! Can't wait to launch it!

Boston Casting is seeking union and non-union male actors 21-30 to portray Meth-Addicts for an upcoming project.
We will only be considering people that fit the following description:
Men between the ages of 21-30
Slight or wiry build
Open to all ethnicity
**Must have acting experience**
Open Call will be at Boston Casting on Friday Oct. 29th from 1-2pm ONLY.
There will be lines, so please leave enough time to come and read the script prior to auditioning.
Please wear a tank and jeans and bring your headshot and resume.

So we launched the event tonight. Poor attendance, which may be partially because THERE WAS NO ON-SITE PROMOTION AND THE FUCKING MANAGER WASN'T EVEN TOLD BY THE OWNER THAT IT LAUNCHED TONIGHT. Why do I try?
On the plus side, the employees liked the game (always important), and my host is phenomenal. Like I said previously, I hire winners.
It really feels good to create something and hire people. Now we just need to bring it all together.

Talked to the owner today...apparently everything is my fucking fault.
"You didn't come in and do a soundcheck."
I don't need to. I plug a wire into a fucking mixer. It's not a U2 concert. I don't care that the manager stepped out to get his cell phone fixed. Train your employees better to use YOUR HOUSE EQUIPMENT.
"You didn't make flyers."
I should, but it's not a priority. Better question is why it wasn't listed on your chalkboard with your other events, or why it's not on your big ass sandwich board outside.
So we're not doing the event next week...the owner wants to talk to me in person to "retool" the event. First step will be for him to get his shit together. I promoted the game on Facebook and busted my ass to get it going. I didn't even take money...he paid only $75 (half of what we agreed to) because only two customers were there, which I gave to my host to whom I had promised $75. I give a fuck. Does he?
I'm still glad I'm doing this. I wanted a new professional challenge. Nobody can argue that I'm not getting one.
