Beckett's had two seasons that are outliers, '06 and '10. He's had a pretty standard level of performance over his career FLA and BOS.
I guess I understand hating on him for his contract, and why people get all pissy when he doesn't mow people down like Schilling in his prime, but overall he's a pretty good pitcher. Two out of 5 years in Boston being sub-par aren't going to win him too many fans, though he wasn't as bad last year as it looked.
Edit: For the record, I wish he was Hanley too.
