This story is fucking huge but only getting a cursory mention.

"A saucer hovers over a missile site, suddenly missiles are temporarily activated, everybody's horrified while trying to figure out what to do, and then, seconds later, everything returns to normal. That happened on Oct. 4, 1982, in the Soviet Ukraine."

A former North American Aerospace Defense (NORAD) officer has come forward saying that he has been in contact with aliens, and that they have decided to probe their existence by making themselves known to the world on October 13, 2010.

One more hour to the conference. Is it microbial life discovered on Titan? Is the Vogon destructor fleet bearing down on us? I'm on pins and needles.

Sorry to ruin it for you guys.

It's arseno-life. Arsenic based life forms have been discovered on earth.

I definitely would have expected Silicon-based life if it were going to be based on an element other than carbon. Pretty amazing regardless. Time to rewrite your chemistry books.

Would anyone who did get early access to the news refer to it as the "science paper"?
