I agree that Price is in a no-win situation (unless he wins), but I still think the Habs made the right move. People want to forget that Halak was yanked 3 times during the playoffs and as a smaller goalie is not considered a guy that can carry a team over a season.
Paying him for one playoff run isn't wise in the current salary cap structure (hi Flounder) and turning him into Eller (a bigger center that the Habs really need) wasn't a bad deal.
There is also a reason Price was signed short-term. Both he and the Habs know that if he struggles early, he still has value to other teams since he's young and his deal isn't bad. Very similar situation to Mason in Columbus (minus the wack-job "fans").
I'm havin a good time, Jacques Martin's tryin to ruin it.
