I don't care who's paying for it, it's the Acela for me. Unless you're getting a lapdance & a BJ in first class, I can't see how flying is better.
Flying in general is awful. Flying out of Logan and into LGA/JFK, and then cabbing into Manhattan blows, when you can arrive at South Station 5 minutes before your train departs and get into Penn Station in 3.5 hours.
Yeah, you might save a half-hour or so by flying. Maybe. Only if the weather gods, air-traffic-control gods and Manhattan cabbie gods are smiling on you.
