There's more missing there though, and that's the ability to keep this defense off the field.
Look at the drive chart to begin the game......a nice mix of run and pass, one drive that ended in a missed FG, and the 2nd that ended in a touchdown. They had the ball all game but about a minute and a half after their TD early in the 2nd quarter, and then had possession another 99 seconds in the 2nd quarter(spread out over TWO possessions) and a little over 9 minutes total in the 2nd half.
The were moving the ball on those first two possessions with Faulk, Taylor and Green-Ellis. It isn't all Jets adjustments to shut down the run, it was also the Pats getting away from the run. 52 yards rushing the whole game, 38 on the first two possessions. Yeah, it is a passing league, but they don't need a Vincent Jackson. They need a home run threat in the backfield, and that likely can't be addressed until the draft, off season trade or a big FA signing.
They better hope that first round pick they have from Oakland(I think) is high so they can grab Mark Ingram or someone similar, or take a corner with that pick and hope another top RB is available later in the 1st round, which there will be.
