Is it Necessary For People To Work in Downtown Boston?

Yes! Of course it is. It helps drive the economy of the area and plenty of business is still done face-to-face

No! Most people can work from home. The 9/5 workday is dead.

What's September 5th got to do with it?

No to all. But I don't work with mongoloids either.

Usually

N/A

NEVER

Feast or famine....some days are great....others are a total wash. Key for me: Get up and shower, put on at least a clean golf shirt and shorts or khakis....otherwise it's 3:30pm all of a sudden and I'm in my underwear without having done much work.

I had a 'work from home' and 'flex time' job for Bloomberg making $40.00 an hour just to do research. I didnt even have to talk to anybody or sell anything.

I gained about 15 lbs.
I did most of my work between 2:00 AM and dawn.
I became a drunkard.

It was great

We allowed a flex schedule a few years ago. Quality of work and deadlines met have never been this poor.

Its more of a function of WHO is working from home, not the work from home to begin with.

If people are asking to work from home, its a disaster waiting to happen. if its a "look we could save money on your workspace and you can do it from home so do it" situation its a lot different.

There is one guy here who works from home every other day because he lives soooo far away (read: just across the NH border). He legitimately does not do a single thing while he's there. Nobody can ever get a hold of him. It's a complete joke. Smart idea letting your laziest guy work from home.

He called me on I think friday morning and expected my voicemail since I don't answer his calls anymore when he's working from home but I picked up and started chatting with him. He had either just rolled out of bed or was drunk. Absolutely incoherent. Did not make a lick of sense.

I work from home maybe once every couple of months when a kid is sick, and it's all remote desktop kinda stuff -- take over whatever machine I need to use to get something done. Nice flexibility in that. I have a fifty mile drive into work and another fifty home, so the 7:30 to 4 hours work (usually I'm in by 6:00 to take the edge off the drive, but either do fuckall for the first hour and a half, or spread my time out with inactivity during the day.) Works for me.
