if someone offers you as a reference thats a seperate issue.

I didn't see this last week. You could be right.

Also Cros it sounds like they have a shitty HR director who likes everyone. We have one of those here and as a result many stiffs get hired, and subsequently fired, wasting everyone's time and money.

This kid has a great resume on paper. He went to a very prestigious enginneering school here in Pittsburgh, graduated and had a good internship with us.

The problem is he has no work ethic and doesn't follow through with anything. He is one of the most un-helpful people I have ever met. He is someone who feels burdered by work and trying to get him to do anything is a chore. Along with the other previously mentioned social issues makes him a nightmare from a management perspective.

Bottom line, he could do this job but he will do it badly and I feel better after letting them know that.

Why do I not see a need for a car dealership to have training on the helicopter parent baby generation?

I gotta keep it real. If he would have done a better job here I would have written a glowing letter as I have in the past for my other interns, one of whom called me today looking for a job.

As it stands now all I told them was I would not want him back. What I wanted to say was something like "He sucks the sweat off a dead goat's dick" but I didn't. I kept it professional.

He might get the job anyhow. The HR guy loved his sorry ass.

I would not want him back = He was stealing from the company, banging the boss' daughter, got caught blowing lines on the copy machine or was caught selling company secrets.

The kid was an intern. You failed.

That is your assessment. Could it be he just sucked?

By the way, I would have praised him for banging the boss' daughter. She is steeeeeeamy.

Not if you want a good recommendation you're not. I can understand not performing above and beyond since you're not getting paid. but if you cant do simple tasks or your too lazy to, you don't deserve a good recommendation from me.

I fired a kid i've known his whole life. He asked me for a rec and i told him no.
