I caught a 9/11 doc on Smithsonian Channel that I may or may not have seen before. Per [can't remember the guy's name but believe he was a CIA higher-up], Rumsfeld was talking about going into Iraq before the calendar went to 9/12. They just had to fucking avenge Old Man Bush by making up a reason to get at Saddam. The United States, in effect, had Saddam whacked. The guy talking was incredulous that THIS is what Rumsfeld had on his mind---invading another country. Fucking war monger.
Fucking Facebook and Twitter did a beter job up causing a Mideast uprising than Baby Bush did because it didn't kill 5300ish Americans. Iraq was a clusterfuck, plain and simple. And we care so goddamn much about dictators and killing innocents that we whistle "Dixie" as Syria's 'leader' slaughters his own. No, I'm definitely not advocating we send troops there. Just pointing out the selective hypocrisy. They let it get personal when it was only business.
