NBA off season 2012

Postby DC » Thu Jul 05, 2012 12:06 pm

If you think Stern was happy this past june how about now?

He is looking at OKC/Lakers west final and Miami vs Boston/Brooklyn (if they get Howard) East Final ..

Top 2 markets in NYC and LA , top 2 players in Miami/OKC plus big brand and historical Celtics..

These are great times for the NBA

There's no way Ray signs with Boston now. Sucks that he's going to Miami though, but I'll take Terry over him at this point in his career anyways.

That $12m over the next 2 yrs is better going to someone who can rebound.

Nash to the lakers is terrible. Kobe needs the ball in his hands way too much for nash to be effective and nash can not guard anyone. Those lakers bigs will be in foul trouble early and often.

Funny I heard same thing about wade and lebron both needing ball... 2 years , 2 finals, 1 title .. seems to work well

Lakers won't get called for fouls unless playing heat in the finals .. NBA is fixed remember Boston? (not saying you say this JTK4)

Think it is bad now wait until he plays at boston. I would say that the majority of real fans respect what he did here and respect the situation. IF all things were equal (playing time ect) I am sure he would have come back. No chance after signing the "jet". Good for him, good fit on that team and I will never forget his big threes during the playoffs especially the bulls series.

As for the comparison to what people said about Miami compared to the Lakers it is apples and oranges. Miami won the title because lebron finally took the ball. imo

For the lakers it will be interesting to see what happens when Nash wants to play the pick and roll with the lakers bigs and Kobe does not touch the ball for a couple possessions. Between pick and rolls and him creating openings by dribbling around is where he is at his best. Him just standing around while Kobe throws it up 35 times a game is a waste.

These dream team debates are funny.

"The only thing the original dream team has on the present dream team is size and the greatest player of all time playing in his absolute prime." Oh is that all.

"But the two (kobe) are close enough where the Jordan factor wouldn’t result in an automatic victory." First he says larry and magic are old but says that kobe right now is close to Jordan in his prime. Kobe is old and while he is still a good player he is not at this point close enough to jordan to make it a wash.

furthermore I think a player like pippen in his prime would be a good fit defensively on LBJ and prime jordan would shut down Kobe. Stockton and Magic would have issues with westbrook and whoever but Blake Griffin was your 5. That shit might work against the Dominicans but you would need a team to brick a bunch of shots to count on fast break points.

Just look at benches. Game over, series over.

looks like all the major outlets were wrong and I like the Ray Ray deal even more... Its only a 1 year deal with option for a second year.. he really must have wanted out of boston.. globe was saying lack of 3rd year which KG got was factor but not case.. this is a great low risk potential high reward belichek/pats like signing for Riley..

if Rashard can stay healthy and get into hittin 3's again that's gonna be huge for Miami too. LBJ and Wade will be able to drive to the hoop whenever they feel like it with ease.
