Had a set over set situation, that went as bad as you could have expected on a dry board and also an open ended str8 flush draw with 2 overs that never hit.....thats the kind of day it was

ok, I don't want this to turn into a Johnny Poker thing:

Was in Costa Rica last weekend and played in a $1-2 cash game. I had about $150 and got pocket Aces. I raised to $12 pre-flop. Dealer called and so did a guy two to his left. Flop came 5-7-9 off. Two to his left checked, I bet $35, dealer called and TTHL shoved for about $80. I called. Dealer then went all in for about $60 more ( I know I'm wrong about the amounts but I had everyone covered if I called ) I wanted no part of calling the dealer as I was SURE I ran into a set. My question is since I had already called the first all-in as well as the dealer, what would have happened if I did not call the dealer's all in? Everyone at the table seemed confused. I just wanted to call TTHL's all in and I thought that his bet would just be called back and it would be a three way race for the original pot. I ended up called the dealer and he mucked when I and TTHL both showed pocket aces to a nothing board.

I hope this makes at least 1% sense.

60 more than the 80 shove?

if you fold to the dealers all in bet you are out of the hand....TTHL and the "Dealer" would played for the pot

TTHL shoved, I called and then the dealer shoved costing me, as I saw it 60 ( or whatever) more to call him. I was confused if I did not call him that I wold surrender the main pot and no one seemed to know. Now it seems like I was right but it all worked out.

Does that make more ( any) sense?

yes, you would surrender the main pot if you folded to the shove by the dealer

Heading to FW this weekend. But, I was thinking of changing it up and going to Mohegan. What is the poker room like? anyone? Crickets?

never been to Mohegan poker room but was actually thinking of hitting foxwoods poker room tomorrow on my day off. wanted to play in the $80 act 1 for the Foxwoods poker classic. been nibbling at some big hits in tournaments lately (rockingham and foxwoods) and can put some of my hoops winnings towards this. ever been? if so, are there also money payouts in addition to gaining entry into the next act? I'm a little confused on that

never played in any of the "acts". Generally there are no additional cash payouts. If there are they are minimal

FW does have a solid Tournament Schedule this weekend for the holiday

ill do the 230 on saturday and the 180 on sunday. If i make some cash and make it through the weekend i'll play in the 400 on monday

I went Sunday night. Got really good cards pretty much all night. I was up over $1000 at one point but went home up about $800. First good session like that in a while. Some kid at my table said he got up to $5500 playing 1-2 once and his session was 5 days straight. He claims they made him leave after 5 days. $3K is the most I've ever seen at a 1-2 table.

ummmm what time were you there? I was there from about noon till 3 am....what table did you sit at?

i was at a crazy table for 1-2.....i was up about 700 end of the night

I knew it was time for me to leave when I straddled and re-popped it with 10's flop a set and lose to broadway (the nuts) and the dude didnt go all in when I led into him on every street....he had 200 more behind him on his river call...and if he shoves i insta call....lol

I got bounced out of the $180 tournament Thursday night with that hand. I hit the set on the flop (10/K/nothing noteworthy), went all in and got called by the much bigger stack (who had already re-raised my initial raise). He had AJ and hit the Q on the turn. I'm not a huge player, but actually felt pretty comfortable in that tourney and plan on going back again soon
