Yup. I mean, it was funny & worth watching, but it was definitely overhyped and a lil overrated.

I enjoyed it as well. Totally not what I thought I was getting, given the brand. But still good.

Amazon Instant Video and my Roku player have combined to be a game-changesr as far as watching movies. Unless it's something that really needs to be seen on the big screen (like the upcoming Dark Knight), I just wait, pay the $4 or $5 (for HD) and enjoy it from my recliner with all the amenities right here. Either goes to my CC bill or gets taken off my Amazon credit. DirecTV's PPV is slightly more.

Roku is best $80 I spent in ages.

rearadmiral wrote:'Moneyball' was entertaining. Jonah Hill was pretty good in the serious role. But I had a hard time buying the assertion that moneyball helped Sox win WS. Give it a B+.

We watched Moneyball tonight. I have a hard time with sports movies as the action can be cheesy(as it was in this movie) and how the "Hollywood effect" really twists things around to make the movie attractive to the non sports fan. For example, I despise Days of Thunder, but I know many who love it. Overall, I liked Moneyball. B+ might be pushing it for me, but I'd give it a solid B. I had to talk myself out of giving it a B- due to the fact that Art Howe is neither short nor fat.

We watached Real Steel over the weekend, mainly due to our 14 year old son wanting to see it. He gives it 5 stars, I say 2 1/2.

Warrior was alright, not great. Same with Project Nim (doc).

Waiting on the other half to see this. Gosling had a great '11. Such different roles in Drive & Crazy, Stupid Love (marketed as a chick flick but was good for dudes), and that one.

He must totally still be bummed about no more Rachel Mac.

Picked up "Duel" on DVD off Amazon. Love that movie but never got around to actually buying it.
