I don't mind passing a joint around the campfire every now and again, but I'de have to say that glass is really best way to go.
I have several beautiful pieces I have collected over the years..........also, I have names for each one.

You must keep your glass nice and clean. Nothing worse than packing sticky headies and taking a
hit and having said headies taste like shit.
If your going to roll a joint, zigzags are the only paper to use. Everything else is like a fucking bed sheet.
Blunts are awful.

Maybe I have a high tolerance but it takes me forever to get baked using a pipe no matter how good the stuff is.
Same thing with a joint, no matter how nicely rolled it is, i cant get as good of a hit off of it.
